The results of the work of light industry enterprises for the first three months of this year have been summed up. The index of textile production in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to 106.8%.

For certain types of products, compared to the same period last year, textile production increased by 1.1% (1,423 million square meters), knitted fabrics by 8.6% (5.8 thousand tons), bed linen by 1.5% (15.3 million pieces).

In the sewing sub-sector, the production of suits, jackets, jackets increased by 28.5% (9.6 million pieces), workwear by 26.8%, hosiery and knitted products by 0.3% (53.7 million pairs). At the same time, the production of men's coats and half-coats decreased by 3.5% (23 thousand pieces), knitted and crocheted products by 14.1% (28.7 million pieces).

In the leather industry, the output of tanned leather increased by 26.1% (350 million sq.dm). The output of shoes increased by 3.9% (25.3 million pairs).
