The results of the work of domestic light industry enterprises for the period January-October of this year have been summed up. During the reporting period, the index of production in the industry increased by 3%, compared to the same period last year.

In the textile sub-sector, in comparison with the same period last year, the volume of production of knitted fabrics increased by 10.4% (19.4 thousand tons), bed linen by 9.3% (56.5 million pieces), chemical fibers by 0.2% (159 thousand tons). The production of fabrics decreased by 1.8% (4.9 billion sq. m. m), cotton sewing threads by 9.9% (115 million coils).

In the sewing sub-sector, light industry enterprises increased the production of workwear by 44.6% (10.8 billion rubles), men's suits by 25.4% (34.6 million pieces), women's suits by 18.9% (2.2 million pieces), men's coats by 13.7% (185 thousandpieces). At the same time, the production of knitted and crocheted products decreased by 10.8% (109 million pieces), hosiery by 9.6% (165 million pairs).

In the leather and footwear sub-sector, the production of shoes increased by 0.3% (96 million pairs), leather from whole hides increased by 4.5% (1,128 million sq. dm). But the production of suitcases and handbags fell by 35.9% (3 billion rubles).
