From May 22 to May 26, Ivanovo hosts the XX International Scientific and Practical Forum SMARTEX-2017.

The forum is dedicated to the study of the fundamentals of industrial technologies for the production and use of so-called "smart" textiles, fibers and finished materials with a wide range of new properties. The event has traditionally become a meeting place for representatives of the scientific community and business circles to address issues related to the introduction of progressive technological innovations in the textile industry and related sectors of the economy.

 «I am sure that the International Scientific and Practical Forum "SMARTEX-2017" will be a successful stage in promoting research results into real production in the textile industry and, as a result, will serve to improve the quality of life of our citizens».

In addition to the Governor of the region, the event was attended by President of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry EntrepreneursAndrey Razbrodin, Director of the Department of Economic Development and Trade of the Ivanovo Region Alexander Lodyshkin, representatives of the IVSPU, the Krestov Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, specialists of enterprises of the region and other regions of the country, Russian industry associations, research organizations.

At the plenary session of the forumSMARTEX-2017, representatives of the scientific and business community discussed the topic of cooperation between science and production. 

Within the framework of the forum, seminars, meetings, scientific sessions and conferences, presentations of new books and industry publications are held. During the event, the finalists of the youth projects competition "FashionNet Market: a Look into the Future" will be selected, who will be able to visit the Foresight Camp of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in Ples at the end of August 2017 and become members of the regional team to prepare proposals for the "roadmap" of the new Russian FashionNet market.

The forum SMARTEX-2017 is held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations of Russia, the Government of the Ivanovo Region, the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs. This year the forum gathered more than 500 participants from different countries.

During the working visit of the President of SOYUZLEGPROm Andrey Razbrodin, he met with the Governor of the Ivanovo region Pavel Konkov. The parties discussed the current situation in the textile industry of the region.Pavel Konkov noted positive changes in the industry and pointed to the growth of textile production in the region.

Thus, the volume of shipped products in textile production in the first quarter of 2017 increased by 18.6% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 10.2 billion rubles.

There is every reason to talk about the end of the economic downturn and the systematic development of the textile industry in the country and the region. Production volumes are increasing, there are requests for scientific developments, all this suggests that the industry is coming to life,

Separately Pavel Konkov and Andrey Razbrodin discussed the progress of the project for the construction of a synthetic fiber plant. The plant is scheduled to reach its design capacity in 2020. In addition, agreements were signed with domestic buyers of polyester fiber in the amount of 108 thousand tons and with the German trader Cetex for 30 thousand tons. Thus, even at the investment stage of the project, contracts have already confirmed more than 78% of the planned production capacity of the enterprise.
