The Next Green Talents 2019
On February 20, 2019, as part of the Milan Fashion Week, the Palazzo Morando hosted a presentation of the works of the finalists of the annual competitionThe Next Green TalentsfromYOOX.
The Next Green Talents is a continuation of the famous initiativeThe Next Talents, created in 2011 by Franca SozzaniandFederico Marchetti. The project has made many young designers from all over the world successful. For the second season in a row, the project is calledThe Next Green Talentsand pays special attention to initiatives focused on promoting the ideas ofsustainable development. In 2018, on the basis of its environmental program, YOOXYGEN decided to support those who work in the field ofsustainable fashion. The goal of the project isThe Next Green Talentsto promote the concept ofsustainable development, conscious consumption and ethical principles in the field of fashion.
Among the finalists of the competition: Maybe(MOZH MOZH) from Peru,Ksenia Schneider from Ukraine,RENATA Buzzo from Brazil, Bite Studios and Bethany Williams (Bethany Williams) from Britain, Luna del Pinal(Luna del Pinal) from Guatemala,Cora Belotto(Cora Bellotto) from Italy.
Main topic The Next Green Talents 2019 –secondary use of things (UPCYCLING). The contestants were asked to create an interesting new thing using models from past collections preserved on the stocks of the online store YOOX.
The garments created from recycled materials were presented at a show at Palazzo Morando and will be put up for sale on YOOX. At the gala cocktail on February 20 and in the following days, the designers also presented their fall-winter 2019/20 clothing collections, which will be available on YOOXYGEN in more than 100 countries from September 20, 2019.
