Light industry for export
On June 27, Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting dedicated to the development of international trade in Russia.The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. Among other things, the support of Russian exporting companies was discussed.
During the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev stressed that Russia, being a member of the World Trade Organization, strictly fulfills the obligations stipulated by the WTO rules. Customs duties have already been reduced, where necessary, the transition to uniform standards has been made. The state additionally supports the industries that are most affected by the new working conditions, in particular light industry enterprises.
Speaking about Russia's priorities in the international trade space, Mr. Medvedev noted that the primary interest remains the support of Russian companies that are already exporting or planning to export their products to foreign markets.
