Moscow's light industry: needs and aspirations
The Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the City of Moscow on March 1 in the Digital Business Space on Pokrovka held Industry meeting on Light industry.
The event was of a protocol nature, the main focus of which was aimed at reporting for the past period and awarding especially distinguished, according to the Department, enterprises. Discussions and heated questions were self-organized in working sections.
The moderator of section No. 5 "Directions of interaction between Moscow manufacturers of light industry products and Russian designers of clothing, footwear and leather goods"was Oksana Shevlyakova – project manager JobMarketFashionIndustry, curator of the direction «FASHION DESIGN HYPE» in the project «DESIGN HYPE PROJECT», official representative of SPbFW in Moscow. This section gathered a very large audience, which indicates the urgency of the pressing problems of interaction between designers and production.
A large audience, I am interested in the stated topic, listened to six speakers. Designer Victoria Andreyanova spoke about the problems and opportunities of scaling the fashion business in today's conditions. Yulia Popova, Development Director of the Vyacheslav Zaitsev Moscow Fashion House, shared the experience of the students of the Vyacheslav Zaitsev Fashion Laboratory with productions and how they interact with each other. Maxim Chapov, a representative of the REC, spoke about the measures of state support for designers and manufacturers. Arseny Uralov, representative of the REC "The Forge of Personnel", highlighted the pressing problems of the industry that the personnel center helps to solve. Andrey Volkov, creative studio Apostille Boutique, shared his experience of working with productions. Vladislav Ivanov, Director for the development of plants "Thermopol", spoke about the interaction of production with designers.
After the speakers' speeches, a heated discussion broke out between designers and industry representatives, as a result, four key problems were formulated:
- Interaction of designers and industry.
- The inability of designers to make a competent technical task and prepare a package of technical documentation.
- The work of enterprises with small batches and batches.
- Low qualification of personnel, and as a result, the quality of the manufactured product by our enterprises does not correspond to the European quality standards of finished products.
Representatives of the Department accepted the requests and responded to all the questions asked, and a number of events aimed at improving communication between designers and productions will be held following the meeting.
