Counterfeit in the light industry

At the Eastern Economic Forum that ended on September 13, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that up to 85% of light industry products in Russia, which were checked by specialists of Rospotrebnadzor, turned out to be counterfeit. She said that the products being checked often do not have proper documents, so a high proportion of counterfeit goods is recorded on the market.

This situation is consistent with the purchasing behavior of consumers. According to a recent study by BrandMonitor, about 86% of Russians are loyal to buying counterfeit goods.

That is why the topic of combating counterfeit and illegal products in our country is very relevant. At the government level, it was decided to create in Russia until 2024 a national system of digital labeling of goods "Honest MARK", which allows you to trace the path of goods along the entire logistics chain, including checking the code when selling at the online checkout.

According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, a list of 10 commodity groups has been approved, which from 2019 are subject to mandatory labeling: tobacco, perfumes, shoes, light industry products, tires, cameras. In 6 years the system should cover all industries.

Pilot projects to introduce the new technology began in January 2018 with the tobacco industry, and shoe manufacturers joined in June.
