Milano Unica in Shanghai
75 top exhibitors will show their products at the SalonEurope exhibition in Shanghai as part of the joint exposition presented by Milano Unica in Hall 6.2.
Despite the decline in GDP, buyers from China still account for almost half of the global luxury market and this is not the limit. The export of Italian textiles to China, especially from expensive natural fabrics, shows a steady increase and this year again added 1%. Changes in the Chinese market are happening impressively fast. If not so long ago luxury goods personified a symbol of wealth and status, now they simply become the satisfaction of personal needs. The focus is shifting to younger buyers, educated, tech-savvy and self-driving. They have absorbed a high standard of living from their parents since childhood and are now looking for high-end goods and custom-made products. "The 10th season of Milano Unica in China confirms the strategic importance of this region for the Italian fashion industry. We thank the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (ITA) for the opportunity to take advantage of its economic and organizational support. I would also like to note that, in addition to men's clothing and textiles, women's clothing is also represented at Milano Unica in China. Moreover, this sector is experiencing the fastest growth in the country," Ercole Botto Poala, president of Milano Unica, said in an address to the press. "Our 75 best exhibitors have brought their collections of the autumn-winter season 17/18, which will be available from October 11 to 13, during the days of INTERTEXTILE. In addition, we demonstrate the Trend Area, which is in great demand and is located inside the pavilion of beauty and culture," added Massimo Mosiello, General director of the exhibition.
The next season of Milano Unica will traditionally take place in Milan from 1 to 3 February. And the autumn-winter season in 2017 is postponed from September to July. Follow the changes on the exhibition website.
