Dan Sullivan, the creator of boring shoes
Beloved by creative personalities and movie stars, the English brand Irregular Choice has released an autumn collection for all its famous shoe lines, from PoeticLisence to Bed of Roses. The founder of the brand Dan Sullivan (Dan Sullivan) from London has been setting the tone in charismatic shoes for 19 years. He founded the brand in 1999, his father founded an English shoe company with little success, Sullivan's mother worked as a shoe designer for the famous brand Red or Dead, but their son masterfully and quickly climbed to the top of the success of the shoe industry.
Sullivan himself went against the flow and therefore became popular: speaking out against the boring nondescript shoes of dark shades offered by British stores, the young designer noticed the craving of fashionistas for unusual heels and shapes.
The first collection imitated the Japanese sole and shape (it remained his favorite).
Women have to wear shoes or boots every day. Therefore, shoes should not just be comfortable, they should not be boring and give a charge of optimism.

Starting work on the brand at the end of the XX century, Dan paid attention not only to the traditional shoes of different peoples, he experimented with materials. Perhaps, he was the first in shoe fashion to paint soft calfskin in acid pink-blue shades. Then he began to "torture" the skin, cutting it into scraps (who will forget his iridescent suede boots with a gold edge 2004-2005 years). Not only curved and comfortable heels appear, but also the unusual shape of shoes itself.
Then Dan begins to create the same amazing bags - bright, cheerful, incredible. I remember the opening of his first boutique in London: I wasn't the only one who wanted to buy everything. Japanese women sobbed with delight, stuffing giant boxes of purchases into a taxi, French women were numb from the incredible design, English women meanwhile proudly strode in cheerful boots on London pavements.
In 2004 Sullivan will open his shops in USA and become a trendsetter for those who are not ready to wear boring shoes. He will be the first to come up with the idea of changing the tops on shoes (as it was two hundred years ago) and turn shoes into boots, the first to start combining plastic and leather (and then he will be the first to abandon it, stopping at textiles and eco-leather ). And yes, he replaced boring heels with dwarfs, kittens and Alice.
Sullivan will be the first, without the help of advertisers and any mentors, to write an appeal to young people around the world to send him their sketches. He wrote to unknown aged women asking them to tell them what kind of shoes they dream of. I am sure that Dan Sullivan, who has released his next collection in the cold, will have time to please fashionistas of all ages and continents with his new ideas.
