Columbus WMS for Warehouse management
Melon Fashion Group manages its warehouses using the Columbus WMS system.
The introduction of Columbus WMS covered the processes of a warehouse of commercial equipment with an area of 2,500 sq. m. The warehouse of commercial equipment Melon Fashion Group is divided into three zones for three brands of the company. The first launch of the system was carried out on the trading equipment of the brand LOVE REPUBLIC. The project was implemented in the shortest possible time – in just 2.5 months. In the future, it is planned to introduce the system for two other brands.
The specialists of Melon Fashion Group were looking for a platform that could support both current and future business processes of the warehouse. Maintenance and development of the old system required a lot of effort on the part of the company's staff. The main goal of the introduction of the new WMS was the urgent need to move from "paper" warehouse management, where all processes were performed manually, to modern methods of work that completely exclude manual methods of transmitting and entering information into the database. An important factor in the transition to the new WMS was also an increase in the speed of order processing, an increase in the quality of assembly and control over the operation of the warehouse online.
The main criterion for choosing an implementation partner was the successful experience of implementing warehouse automation projects with complex goods and a creative approach. In addition, the company was looking for a partner who could offer a ready-made solution that would help ensure a quick launch and a high-quality result. As a result, Melon Fashion Group opted for the expertise of the Columbus consulting company and its Columbus WMS system.
TheColumbus WMS system allows you to maximize the use of space, keep records of the assembly of orders and increase the speed of staff work while reducing the number of errors. Columbus WMS is suitable for warehouses with different approaches to automation, from simple to the most modern operation management systems.
Now with Columbus WMS warehouse employees, managers who manage the life of the warehouse are working. Melon Fashion Group chose the path of self-automation. The first acquaintance with the solution took place on an integration test, after which the training was continued on the working version of the system. Also, Columbus consultants conducted a training where the most complex warehouse processes were considered.
In the future, Melon Fashion Group plans to develop a solution, during which the processes of cross-docking, placement management and an application for cargo acceptance by external contractors will be redesigned.
