Decent fashion in Russia
April 12, at The Fashion Museum held a round table on the topic "Russian designers in the market of Decent fashion".
Modest fashion (decent fashion, modest fashion) a very young direction of the industry, just entering the global fashion, however, it has a great future. Explanations of the phrase modest fashion vary, but on a global scale, it means, first of all, clothes for Muslim women. These are clothes of a more closed and loose cut, comfortable style than in the usual fashion. Although its main consumers are Muslim women, such clothes can also be used by women of other faiths who are tired of revealing outfits and ostentatious luxury, and prefer more decent and modest outfits for personal reasons.
During the round table and panel discussion, the following topical issues were considered:
- Can the actively developing trend in fashion Modest Fashion be considered the mainstream of the global fashion industry that has gone beyond a certain culture or territory?
- Why is it now that confessional clothing is becoming increasingly popular in modern world and domestic fashion under the influence of the interaction of different cultures?
- Is it possible for such a phenomenon as "Decent fashion" to arise in Russia and what are its prospects?
- What is the specifics of Modest fashion in Russia and how does it differ from foreign trends?
- Are Russian designers capable of shaping trends in the field of Decent fashion, or is the time already lost and the leaders have already been identified?
- Are there any possible measures of state support for domestic producers in this segment?
The speakers of the round table were: Dilara Sadrieva A Modest Fashion expert, General Representative of the Council of Islamic Fashion and Design in Russia, Editor-in-chief of Cover Magazine, Elina Avanesova – designer, founder of the Anavess brand, Elena Kogel – project Manager Fashion Designers.
The moderator of the event was Irina Karimova Head of the Fashion Education Internet portal.
Designers, representatives of the public and education, and journalists took part in the discussion.
