Adidas closes stores
The head of the company Adidas Kasper Rorsted in an interview for The Financial Times spoke about the strategy for the coming years, according to Buybrand Inform. The sportswear manufacturer intends to make a serious bet on online sales and increase revenues in this sector by half to 4 billion rubles a year. At the same time, the costs of traditional stores will be significantly reduced, which is why many points, including franchised ones, will be closed.
"Our website is the most important store in the world for us. When you have a large retail network, you supply shoes with pallets. But when you sell directly to the end customer, you send one pair of shoes, some socks and shorts," commented the CEO of Adidas Kasper Rorsted.
In 2017, the company was going to close 160 stores in Russia. This led to a 3% drop in sales in Russia and the CIS. Kasper Rorsted did not announce specific plans for 2018.
Today, there are more than 2.5 thousand of Adidas' own stores around the world, as well as 13 thousand monobrand salons opened under the franchise.
