According to the results of the work of domestic light industry enterprises for the period January–August 2017, the index of industrial production in the textile sub-sector was 108.3%, in the sewing –103.4%, in the leather and footwear – 104%, compared to the same period last year.

For certain types of products in textile production, the output of wool yarn increased by 13.8%, fabrics by 11.8%.  Of these, woolen yarn by 13.2%, linen – by 2.2%, cotton– by 1.1%, silk– by 9.9%, synthetic fibers and yarns – by 27.7%, nonwovens – by 14.6%.

In addition, the production of synthetic fibers increased by 7.6%, by 5.1% – quilted blankets. At the same time, the production of carpets and carpet products decreased by 10.5%, gauze by 4.8%, artificial fibers by 9.2%.

In the sewing sub-sector, the production of women's jackets and blazers has increased by 6%, men's shirts by 4.3%, jumpers and vests by 56.8%, hosiery – by 13.3%. At the same time, the production of men's suits decreased by 4.7%, trousers by 6%, skirts by 3%, coats; by 1.8%.

In the leather and shoe industry, the production of suede increased by 5.7%, shoes by 10.8%.
