VI International Forum "Anti-counterfeit"
From November 19 to 21, Moscow will host the VI International Forum "Anti-Counterfeit" , the main discussion expert platform of the Eurasian Economic Union, within which representatives of society, government and business will be able to discuss issues of market protection from the conflict of fact and falsification, the harmonization of legal regulation in the field of registration and certification, as well as the protection of the rights of copyright holders engaged in the dissemination of the results of intellectual activity.
In modern society, effective protection against illegal trafficking of industrial products and ensuring intellectual property rights are becoming increasingly important factors of economic development. Illegal turnover of industrial products leads to business losses and significant losses of the state budget, and these products pose a danger to the health and life of consumers. Measures to counteract the illegal turnover of industrial products taken in the EAEU member states can be implemented throughout its territory in order to increase the efficiency of this activity, taking into account the common economic space.
However, due to the problems associated with legislation and the practice of its application, the combination of relatively high per capita income (Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus) and at the same time low requirements of a significant part of the population for the quality of products, the territory of the EAEU member states today represents an attractive space for the import, production and sale of illegal products. The formation of a single market necessitates the development of coordinated interstate measures to ensure the high efficiency of its regulation, as well as the organization of a dialogue between government authorities and representatives of the business community. Solving these issues requires a systematic approach.
In this regard, the tasks of increasing the fight against illicit trafficking in industrial products today should become part of the economic and social agenda of the EAEU as a whole and of each member state of the EAEU separately.
The main purpose of the forum «Anti-counterfeit-2018» to organize a constructive dialogue between representatives of state authorities, business communities, science and the public to develop joint solutions in the field of combating illicit trafficking in industrial products and to form a civilized market of goods and services.
