The competition "High five! Designer of the future"
On March 26, TASS held a press conference dedicated to Give high five to the first All-Russian contest! The designer of the future", the colorful finale of which will be held on April 1 as part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Russian stars will appear on the podium in outfits created on the basis of sketches of young finalists.
The press conference was attended by: Lina Arifulina, General producer of the award "High Five!»; Alexander Shumsky, President of the National Chamber of Fashion and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia; Igor Gulyaev, designer; Margarita Pozoyan, singer; Irina Toneva, model; Tatiana Danilova and Daria Kharitonova, finalists of the competition.
Competition «High five! Designer of the future» – part of the annual national Television Awards «High five!». In a few months, novice designers from all over the country under the age of 16 have sent more than 2000 applications.A creative group led by a well-known Russian designer is engaged in creating outfits based on sketches by young designers Igor Gulyaev.
The fashion show will be held in an unusual format of a "dramatic fashion show", and as models on the podium will be: Valeria, Alla Mikheeva, Ksenia Borodina, Natalia Podolskaya, Laysan Utyasheva, Victoria Daineko, Diana Pozharskaya, Anna Starshenbaum, Lisa Arzamasova, Margarita Pozoyan, Yulia Savicheva, Irina Toneva, Klava Coca and many others.
Speaking to the audience Igor Gulyaev shared the story of his own formation and gave invaluable advice to young designers: "For me, this competition is important, first of all, as a person, because I myself grew up in a small town and envy today's boys and girls in a good way. Once upon a time, living in a Kazakh village and seeing on the TV screen Slava Zaitsev, I could not imagine that I would come to Moscow and be friends with this man, and he would come to the opening of my first boutique in Moscow and shake my hand. I didn't know then that I would be dressing famous artists and the first stars of our country and not only.
It is a great happiness to give a chance to talented young people, nuggets, to reach out to them and support them at the initial stage - this is a wonderful idea.
We have received more than 2500 applications from different parts of our country. The works are not always professional, sometimes simple, but the guys and girls who have done them are trying to get closer to beauty, to aesthetics. They don't sit still, they don't do nothing, they try to stand out, occupy themselves with something, they are interested in fashion, beauty, what is happening today. And it's very cool! There are quite a large number of really talented guys among them, who, even if they did not get into the winners, but participation in the competition for them is already a very good step. Because when you strive, when you set a goal for yourself, when you try to move yourself, sooner or later miracles happen in your life.
In my life, I have always had an attitude, I believe that it is characteristic of all successful people. The thought never even crept into my head that something might not work out for me. I wish that our young participants, too, do not allow the thought that something will not work out for them. «I will do», «I will achieve », «I will become the best» only such thoughts should be in your head and then good luck will come into your life. Maybe the path will not be easy, there are different periods in life, she is like a zebra. But if you have chosen a profession, any profession, you must go to the goal and be the best. You have to go directly, like a rocket – then everyone will follow you.
I sincerely wish that on the first of this beautiful show was successful, so that we did everything that was planned. I wish everyone a victory and I think we will have a very cool story."
In his speech Alexander Shumsky, noted one of the important aspects of the contest: "It seems to me that stars should create other stars. At least music stars, create fashion stars. Therefore, it is not scary for them to wear outfits from unknown designers, and this is their direct responsibility. For example, over the past few years, our designers, showing their collections at MBFW Russia, began to dress Lady Gaga. And the logic here is simple – why would Lady Gaga wear, for example, Diora. It's a special chic for her to find some new designer and show herself in his outfits. It is very important for show business stars to stand out on stage, which is exactly what can be done by supporting fashion newcomers. So the concept we have chosen is very correct. I wouldn't be surprised if some of our finalists receive orders from other stars as well.
Finalists of the competition «High five! The designer of the future" shared their stories and feelings of victory.
Tatiana Danilova: "When I sent the sketch, I didn't even expect that some star would choose my outfit. I created my image for a sophisticated and brave girl, an actress, and I am glad that I chose it Anna Snatkina, because I think it suits her very well.
I am 16 years old and participation in such a competition is my first experience, but I have long decided that I want to be a designer and will follow my dream.
The competition gave me a push forward and confidence that my work can successfully compete with other guys.
Daria Kharitonova: "When creating the sketch, I imagined that my model would be modern, bright and that it was chosen by a blogger Katya Ogurtsova, great luck. It seems to me that the image will suit her very well.
The fact that I was a finalist in this competition inspired me and convinced me even more not to turn away from the chosen path to enter the Higher School of Economics at the Faculty of Design and become a designer in the future.
