Let's say "No!" to imported workwear

The Russian government has included imported fire-resistant workwear in the list of light industry goods prohibited from public procurement.

The relevant Resolution No. 1299 of October 26, 2017 states: "The lists of light industry goods originating from foreign countries (with the exception of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union), the public procurement of which is not allowed, are supplemented with protective fire-resistant clothing."

The Government notes that the ban on public procurement of imported fire-resistant clothing will have a positive impact on Russian light industry enterprises, their development and modernization, as well as on job creation.

It is also reported that every year federal and municipal departments alone need more than 1 million square meters of fire-resistant fabrics, while the capacity of Russian enterprises is 12.9 million square meters per year, which indicates their sufficiency to meet all needs.
