Russian Silhouette: new names in the fashion world
The International Competition of Young Designers "Russian Silhouette" has already started for the 12th time in Russia and neighboring countries. This year the competition is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
A unique international project headed by Tatiana Mikhalkova, has been discovering new names of young designers to the world for more than 20 years. The Foundation strives to always be at the center of the fashion flow, because its main goal is to support talented youth and create conditions for the development of the potential of gifted fashion artists in the modern world.The winners of the competition were Alyona Akhmadullina, Alexander Terekhov, Vika Gazinskaya, Kirill Gasilin, Dzhemal Makhmudov, Alexey Vlasov, Anton Galetsky and many others who are successfully developing their brands today and make up a team of the country's leading designers.
This year, about 3,000 aspiring fashion designers from Kursk, Tula, Yakutsk, Vladivostok, Voronezh, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Grozny, Penza and other cities will take part in the qualifying rounds of the "Russian Silhouette". Preliminary stages of the competition will be held with the support of regional offices.

At the second stage, the guys bring already sewn outfits on a hanger. However, the most colorful and exciting is the fashion show itself, where all five models of clothing appear before the audience in a single concept.
Free participation and provision of young designers with models and stylists gives talented guys a chance to express themselves in the fashion industry, regardless of their financial capabilities. The contestants get acquainted with famous designers, receive advice from honored masters of the catwalk, and winning the competition gives the finalists the opportunity to undergo an internship in the best fashion houses. The companies Bosco di Ciliegi, Saga Furs, Premier Vizion, Samos Fashion Group, «Linum», Red have repeatedly provided the winners with significant internships and prizes. The winners studied at Istituto Marangoni and Domus Academy in Milan, Polimoda Institute in Florence. The finalists were successfully shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, at Haute Couture Week in Rome (Roma Collezioni Alta Moda), Fashion Week in Moscow and others.
The names of the winners of the XII Young designers competition "Russian Silhouette" will be announced on November 10 at the final gala show in Gostiny Dvor, which is the largest fashion event in terms of organization and the breadth of geography of participants.
Today, the search for talented designers and providing them with assistance is of particular importance for the creation of new domestic brands and the development of existing brands. This is confirmed by the State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov: "The Russian light industry today has positive growth indicators and expands the circle of interested consumers. However, we do not stop there and continue to work actively to establish a dialogue not only with large enterprises, but also with small businesses. It is especially important to support our designers, including encouraging the transition from private collections to serious production.
In many ways, it is thanks to the unique competition "Russian Silhouette" that a new generation of self-confident professionals has grown up in Russia over the past decades, ready to create competitive brands.
