The company "Russian flax" (part of the Belgorod agro-industrial holding "PROMAGRO") intends to participate in the federal target program"Development of reclamation of agricultural lands in Russia for 2014–2020». By the end of 2019, the company plans to introduce more than 5 thousand hectares of land into crop rotation, of which 30% 40% have not been used for agricultural work for more than 20 years.

Comments Konstantin Klyuk, CEO of APH «PROMAGRO: «The current year has become a good foundation for time-consuming and systematic work within the framework of the five-year strategy of the holding. In particular, we have started introducing fallow lands into crop rotation. This is not an easy process, which requires specialized equipment and the use of modern agronomic technologies. Specialists will fight shrubs and trees by mulching, removing and grinding the root system, rotovation. This will be followed by a number of measures designed to enrich the soil with the necessary organic substances, after which flax will be sown in these fields in 2020.

The company reported that in the spring the final stage of preparation for sowing flax will be carried out - leveling of plowing, pre-sowing cultivation with disk tools, as well as direct sowing with simultaneous fertilization. In total, by the spring of 2019, about 2 thousand hectares of land in various districts of the Smolensk region will be prepared for sowing flax.

Comments Alexander Nikitenko, Managing Director of Crop Production of «Russian flax»: «Today, the preparation of fields for sowing flax is in full swing. Almost 500 hectares of land have been treated with continuous herbicides, plowing is underway. It is planned to produce two stages of disking and plowing on more than 700 hectares - everything will depend on weather conditions.

This year, the company "Russian flax" harvested from its experimental site, the rest of the raw materials were purchased from farms with which contracts were concluded. Next year, the company plans to increase its own acreage, while cooperation with farmers and other agricultural producers will also develop.

The project involves the construction of the most modern flax plant in Russia, which, when it reaches full capacity, will become one of the largest flax processing plants in the Russian Federation. Within a few years, a plant for the primary processing of flax into mechanical cotonine will be built and brought to full capacity using innovative Russian and European technologies, which will allow producing competitive high-quality products.
