Results of the third annual All-Russian Forum of Light Industry

For the third year in a row, the All-Russian Forum of Light Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has been bringing together representatives of business, public authorities, industry associations, professional communities, financial institutions, as well as Russian and foreign experts on one platform.

The business program included three parallel formats of work: round tables for discussing topical issues, debates for live discussions and developing constructive solutions to acute issues, as well as a special project;#The Light Industry Academy", within the framework of which training workshops were held from Russian and foreign experts for specialists of light industry enterprises: "How to increase the commercial effect of participation in the exhibition?» and «Personnel for light industry » and others.

Also on the first day of the forum, an exhibition dedicated to the latest developments and achievements of the domestic light industry in the field of high-tech products with a wide range of applications was opened.

As part of the business program, the forum participants discussed the priorities of the industry's development and the results of current state support programs, considered the balance of interests of business and the state, assessed the investment attractiveness of the industry.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov noted: "The development of the Russian light industry is one of the priorities for the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Now the industry provides 0.9% of GDP, 2.4% of industrial production, 3.6% of the total volume of manufacturing. In total, 2.2 billion rubles were allocated to support the light industry this year. We want to create a comprehensive infrastructure for the implementation of projects for the creation of new and modernization and technical re-equipment of existing production facilities in the light industry. In parallel, we are working directly with state-owned companies to orient them to the products of the domestic market. Today, state-owned companies sat down at the negotiating table. For example, Vnesheconombank has included the segment of synthetic fabrics and technical textiles among its priorities. We have solved the issue of product labeling at the interstate level and achieved our first successes in the fur market. As part of the fulfillment of the President's instructions, we have organized cooperation with agricultural producers in terms of solving issues with leather raw materials, we also continue to work together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia to provide the industry with chemical fibers and threads. The most important thing is that today business and the state hear each other, agree and do, in fact, one common thing – create a steadily developing competitive light industry ».
In the mode of debates, representatives of financial institutions, authorities and production managers discussed the topics of the availability of financing for the development of production and the creation of effective mechanisms for concessional lending.

At expert events dedicated to design, Russian designers, government officials and production owners analyzed the issues and problems of selling products of light industrial enterprises in the Russian and foreign markets using specific examples. There was also a discussion on the topic of realizing the potential of Russian designers and brands in the changing global fashion market.

The forum hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding Russian manufacturers who won the "Top‑10" competition in 2016 for achievements in the development of innovative light industry products that will determine future trends. The winners of the competition were the companies "Rostech" (nomination "Underwear"), "Obverse" (nomination "Sports equipment"), "Paris Commune" (nomination "Shoes"), «Sir» (nomination «Materials for Life »), «Vologda Textiles» (nomination «Materials for Home »), Nonwoven Fabric Factory «The whole world»  (nomination "Materials for Industry") and others.
