V All-Russian Forum of Light Industry
On November 30, 2018, Ivanovo hosted the V All-Russian Forum of Light Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The Forum hosted a plenary session "Competitiveness of the Russian light industry", which was attended by: State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov, Governor of the Ivanovo region Stanislav Voskresensky, President of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs (Soyuzlegprom) Andrey Razbrodin, Executive Vice President and Partner of PEMANDU Associates Christopher Tan Datuk, Purchasing Director of the AUCHAN retail chain Nadezhda Paderina, President of the International Buyers Association Georgy Rostovshchikov, Acting Director of the Institute of Advanced Production Technologies of the SPbPU Federal State Educational Institution Sergey Salkutsan.
The participants summed up the results of the year, announced prospects and further plans for the development of the domestic light industry. According to the conclusions of the speakers, the export of light industry goods was recognized as one of the priority areas of industry development: according to the results of the first nine months of 2018, the volume of exports of light industry products amounted to 1.1 billion US dollars.
According to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov, industry representatives need to understand what trends they should focus on in order to achieve significant results in the foreign market, and how to maintain and increase their presence in the domestic market. Russian companies need to go abroad more actively, developing and promoting Russian brands, forming consumer demand for Russian goods as high-quality, affordable, fashionable and safe.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, in 2018, many projects and activities focused on the formation of the competitiveness of the domestic light industry were implemented: innovative and high-quality materials for the automotive industry and aviation were developed, existing production facilities were modernized and new ones were opened, roadmaps were developed within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, business missions were conducted to the world's leading production facilities, Cooperation agreements have been signed with the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Institute of Design, collective stands have been organized at major industry exhibitions.
During the meeting, Denis Fomin, the ideologist of the multi-channel b2b platform "Fashion magazin", spoke about the impact of modern technologies on the development of light industry in general and the fashion industry in particular.
In addition, the results of the "strong" III Industry Professional Competition "TOP-10" were summed up at the plenary session. The winners were: the brand "Lanika" in the nomination "Women's coat", the trademarks STAYER in the nomination "Women's half coat", SHISHKIN in the nominations "Men's coat" and "Men's half coat" (more about this victory), «Unichel» in the nomination «Women's shoes», «Orthomode» in the nomination «Women's boots», S-TEP in the nomination «Men's shoes », «FARADAY» in the nomination «Men's boots ».
