National Industry Award "Golden Spindle"

The XIV Award Ceremony "Golden Spindle" took place in Moscow. This year, the award winners had the opportunity to receive an award at the largest exhibition event of the Russian light industry market - the Russian Textile and Light Industry Week.

The owners of the official symbol of the award are the statuettes «Golden spindle» There were 30 laureates, determined by the expert council of the National Academy of Fashion Industry during a direct open vote and based on a thorough study of the activities of each applicant, which took into account what products he produces, what services he provides, what projects he participates in and how he contributes to the development of the Russian fashion industry.

The awards were presented by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Soyuzlegprom, well-known figures of art and fashion world (NAIM President Vyacheslav Zaitsev, director of the Fashion Collection editorial network Marina Demchenko, President of the Russian Silhouette Charitable Foundation Tatiana Mikhalkova, fashion historian Natalia Kozlova, designers Victoria Andreyanova, Elizaveta Romanyuk and others famous fashion designers).

Presenting well-deserved awards to the laureates of the "Working Professions" nomination, President of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Andrey Razbrodin once again stressed the importance of state support for this project and the true value of the laureates receiving the official symbol of the award, which for many years has been a sign of recognition, an annual assessment of the highest professional achievements in the sphere of formation and development of the fashion industry in Russia.

For the first time in the history of the award, one company, the Shishkin Tailor Manufactory, won in three key nominations at once. Dmitry Shishkin, a 28-year-old Ural designer of men's clothing, candidate of Art history and member of the Union of Designers of Russia, founder of the Shishkin Tailor Manufactory, the first Bespoke Atelier in Russia and the innovative Uniform Atelier sewing factory opening recently, received awards in key categories "Creative Collection" and "Corporate clothing".;. The third golden statuette in the nomination "Working professions in the fashion industry" as the best designer was received by Sergey Nikolaevich Bulanov, a leading specialist of the Shishkin manufactory.

In addition to the key award nominations, this year the nomination "Costume in the cinema" attracted special attention. The winner of the award in this nomination was Nadezhda Vasilyeva, costume designer of the movie "Matilda" by Alexey Uchitel, who even before his release on the big screens caused a series of rumors and scandals. The academics noted that it is difficult to ignore such a large-scale work of a huge number of people who worked on the creation of the film. The period of spring-summer 1896 was recreated for the first time in the domestic cinema, so all the costumes had to be made specifically for the film. In total, more than 7000 original costumes were made for the filming of the film, as well as wardrobe items, shoes, hats, jewelry and accessories. As Nadezhda Vasilyeva herself noted, this nomination really became the "first collaboration of a costume in cinema and the fashion world". While working on the costumes, director Alexey Uchitel set a difficult task for the artists - not just to engage in reconstruction, but also to saturate the picture with modern details so that the images are read relevant. According to academician NAIM designer Yulia Ivanova, who presented the award to the laureate, even those materials that became available to the viewer before the release of the film are already enough to understand that the artists really brilliantly managed to convey the feeling of that era to the viewer through the costume.

Elena Rzhevskaya, designer, artist, leading lecturer of the Vyacheslav Zaitsev Fashion Laboratory, Associate Professor of the Department of Design and Humanities, received a special award for her contribution to the training of personnel of the domestic fashion industry.Applied Institute of MEI. Elena Viktorovna's teaching experience is 33 years. Among her brilliant students are Andrey Sharov, Sultanna Frantsuzova, Yulia Kolmanovich, Olga Romina, Maxim Rapoport, Yana Gataullina, Sabina Gorelik, Alexander Terekhov, Masha Sharoeva, Kalle Aasamyae, Yulia Ivanova and many other masters who have achieved not only creative self-realization, but also commercial success, which is no less important.

A wonderful final chord of the event was the performance of the vocal project Viva – a unique collective that unites the best soloists of famous opera houses in Russia and Europe. The collective presented the author's song "Magnificent Country", which premiered in December 2016 on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace.

The guests and laureates of the award ceremony unanimously noted that from year to year the award gathers the best representatives of the industry, which means that it grows and develops.
