Crisis is the time of smart shopping

According to the company 's joint research KupiVip.ru and the analytical agency Fashion Consulting Group, 66% of Russians admit that this season they will not only have to save on vacation, but also give up entertainment in the form of visiting shopping centers. At the same time, 76% of respondents will look for alternatives to the usual shopping malls in order to save on buying clothes this winter. Among the reasons for abandoning traditional shopping, respondents noted a significant increase in prices in offline stores (86%).

"More than three-quarters of respondents noted that they had to save on purchases of fashionable goods in the current season. Because of this, retailers have reduced purchases, and imports have decreased by more than 30%, explains Anna Lebsak-Kleimans, CEO of Fashion Consulting Group. At the same time, women save less on shoes than on clothes, and are not ready to give up their favorite brands. “Love for shoes ” can be considered a distinctive feature of Russia, and many retailers have bet on it. Most stores have reduced the retail margin on shoes, restraining the growth of prices for this category in order to maintain turnover. But the trend of "thrifty shopping" continues to gain strength.

For example, 76% of Russians who took part in the survey said that they would look for alternative formats for purchases of desirable things: wait for promotions like "Black Friday" and "cyber Monday" or look for new formats of shopping with discounts.
