Results of the school uniform check
Roskachestvo together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia summed up the results of the study the quality of clothing for students . In the "secret buyer" mode, experts purchased school trousers from 27 regions of the country during the school uniform sale season. The results of the study confirmed a decrease in the share of low-quality products, compared with 2016, by 20%, however, the lack of mass control of fabrics entering the production generates violations of mandatory requirements.
The study of Roskachestvo included the most popular brands of school uniforms on the Russian market, a total of 62 pairs of trousers worth from 500 to 3890 rubles per unit of goods at the time of purchase. Most of the trousers were made in Russia, but there were also trademarks from Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
The study was conducted according to 60 quality and safety parameters, among the main indicators are the presence of toxic elements, stain resistance parameters, the ability of the fabric to breathe, absorb and retain moisture. In addition, the test program included «consumer» indicators – abrasion, strength, pilling (the appearance of pellets during operation), change in linear dimensions –i.e. «shrinkage » after washing. Testing also included tailoring quality indicators and injury safety of accessories.
According to the results of laboratory tests, trousers of six brands met not only the requirements of the current standards for quality and safety, but also the requirements of the advanced standard of Roskachestvo. After assessing the level of localization, experts will decide on the assignment of the state Quality Mark to the form under the trademarks "Leader Bargaining", "Clothing", "Change", "Start" and Olmi. Also, The quality mark in 2016 was already assigned to clothes for students "Our uniform", and during the research of 2018, the product confirmed its high quality. Meet the standards of Roskachestvo, i.e. the status of "enhanced quality", and get a Russian The quality mark with could only be durable clothing, sewn from really high-quality fabrics, with high sanitary and hygienic characteristics.
At the same time, the study confirmed the problem of the quality of incoming tissues and incorrect labeling. In more than 60% of the products examined, experts revealed various kinds of violations. In 2016, the share of violations exceeded 80%.
As the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov notes, in comparison with the 2016 study, the desire of manufacturers to work on mistakes and introduce control of incoming raw materials is noticeable.
As reported by Maxim Protasov, head of Roskachestvo, the comfort of children directly depends on the hygienic characteristics and the raw material composition of the fabrics from which it is sewn.
The current study revealed a number of exceedances of the current sanitary and hygienic standards in 22 cases out of 62 products could not comply with the technical regulations in terms of hygroscopicity, i.e. the ability of the fabric to absorb and retain moisture. In 2016, inconsistencies in this indicator were noted in 49% of the products studied. As for the air permeability indicator, which shows the ability of the fabric to breathe, violations were detected in 14 products from 62. This indicator "suffered" in 2016 for a third of the products studied.
A common problem identified in the study of light industry goods is the discrepancy between the actual composition of the product stated on the label. Deviations in the composition of children's trousers were detected in half of the products studied. The head of Roskachestvo noted that falsification of data on the raw material composition of the upper and lining fabrics is one of the most serious problems in the modern market of the Russian light industry, but it is not always a consequence of the dishonesty of enterprises.
