Results of the IV Week of Russian retail

On June 10, the IV International Forum of Business and Government "Russian Retail Week 2018", organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and , endedThe Russian Association of Retail Market Experts (RAERR). The forum was held from June 6 to 10 in Moscow, at the World Trade Center and gathered more than 6,000 people.

 

 

Russian Retail Week A leading communication platform for an active dialogue between retail representatives and authorities responsible for the consumer market. The key topic of the forum this year was the digital transformation of retail. According to Andrey Karpov, head of the Directorate of HPR-2018, Chairman of the Board of the RAERR, in recent years Russian retail has become a focus of digital innovations in a variety of areas in working with customers and staff, in management assortment, logistics and online sales. "This transformation, where information technology plays a key role, is becoming a critical factor in the further development of retail companies," Karpov stressed.

 


Naturally, within the framework of the Russian Retail Week, a number of technological sections were held: "IT in the modern retail business", "Mobile technologies in retail", "Digital communications in retail", "Digital laboratory: how to start the engine of innovation, Retail Startup Challenge, Security and Cybersecurity in Retail, Franchising in Retail, Best Practice Retail, Artificial Intelligence in retail and others.In total, more than 80 events were held as part of the business program.

 


Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia took an active part in the forum, and Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, noted that the Ministry pays great attention to the digitalization of the industry, in particular the e-commerce segment, and together with the Ministry of Finance of Russia is currently working on a regulatory framework, which allows you to build mechanisms for the sale of alcohol on the Internet. According to experts, this will be a powerful impetus for the development of food sales via the Internet in general. The Minister said that a project on labeling fur products, medicines is successfully operating in Russia, and soon the labeling of shoes, tobacco products and other products will begin.

 

In addition, The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia consistently advocates the reduction of administrative barriers in order to create a favorable regulatory framework for the creation of new trade formats. Viktor Yevtukhov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, noted that all legislative changes should be discussed in advance with market participants, as well as with relevant departments, with organizations that are responsible for consumer rights, and only then submitted to legislators.

 

 

Strategic conferences were also held at the forum. Within the framework of one of them, representatives of the business community evaluated the project of a newIndustry development strategies, also prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

 

The business program NRP-2018 included numerous expert discussions, master classes and round tables on marketing, personnel management, merchandising, geo-analytics, omnichannel, etc., as well as direct negotiations between suppliers and retailers within the Network Procurement Center, which was attended by representatives of more than 50 federal and regional retail chains. Separate sessions were devoted to specific topical topics: "Retailers and manufacturers: a regional perspective", "support for regional manufacturers", "State infrastructure projects: traceability of products", "new stages of the implementation of the Unified State Register of Industrial Safety", "Mercury", online sales register. 

 

On June 6, within the framework of the NRP, was held for the first timeThe All-Russian competition "Trade of Russia", also organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Expert Commission reviewed over 620 applications from participants and identified 81 winners in seven nominations.

 

 

«Russian Retail Week 2018» was held under the theme of light industry in Russia.In a special fashion session Anna Maksimova, Adviser to the Department of Project Management for the Development of Light Industry of the Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, spoke about the work of the Ministry to establish cooperation between Russian light industry enterprises with well-known Russian and foreign fashion retailers, which was launched back in 2013. "Thanks to the combined efforts, more and more representatives of fashion retail are showing interest in localizing production on the territory of the Russian Federation," she stressed.

 

 

For the first time in the framework of the NRP-2018, a two-day WINE RETAIL FORUM was held, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, RAERR, the Union of Sommeliers and Experts of Russia, the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, the Wine Retail Information Center. The Forum brought together retailers, exporters and Russian wine producers and became an effective professional discussion platform on a wide range of issues related to market development and best practices of the wine trade.

 

This year, the exhibition of innovative retail technologies RETAIL WEEK EXPO was held at a new level, where, along with traditional exhibitors, the guests of the forum were hospitably greeted by robots, those interested were offered special "augmented reality glasses", and at the stand "Stoloto" during the forum played several iPads and a MacBook.

 

 

She also noted the best representatives of the retail market in 15 nominations and the professional award RETAIL WEEK AWARDS, the winners of which received their awards on a river trip by ship. Among the awardees were: «Vkusville», Wildberries, X5 Retail Group, «Eldorado», AUCHAN», «House of Culture of Taste», Ortek», Finn Flare, Ascona», Bristol», «VINLAB», METRO Cash&Carry,«YES!», Modi fun shop, «A-FABRIK», «Dixie», Adidas BASEMOSCOW, Fashion-space Underline («MEGA Warm Camp»), «Leroy Merlin», «Rainbow Smile», «Ribbon».

On June 9, traditional retail tours were organized for the forum, in which participants visited and got acquainted in detail with the organization of internal business processes at trade and logistics facilities of such well-known companies as OZON, IKEA and Platypus.


The key theme of the upcoming fifth anniversary Week of Russian Retail, which will be held from June 4 to June 9, 2019, isEfficiency and new growth reserves.
