Decathlon will give half of the shelves to Russian goods
The French chain of sports hypermarkets Decathlon plans to increase the share of products produced in Russia to 45-50% within two years, said the head of the company's production division in the CIS, Thomas Renu, during a speech at the All-Russian Forum of Light Industry. Today Decathlon works with 25 domestic manufacturers, about 20% of the network's products are produced in Russia.
Mr. Renu noted that in working with Russian suppliers, the French network periodically faces problems, in particular with the non-compliance of many factories with safety requirements. In addition, the insufficient speed of production innovation raises questions. As one of the possible reasons , Mr. Renyu called the low level of competition. He also noted the problem of insufficient financing of Russian companies.
