Adidas doubled its profit
German concern Adidas, the world's second largest manufacturer of sporting goods, reported sales in the second quarter of 2018. The company's net profit more than doubled, jumping by 150% in April-June to 397 million euros compared to 159 million euros in the same period last year.
Revenue of Adidas in the last quarter increased by 4.4% to 5.26 billion euros. The revenue growth rate excluding currency fluctuations was 10%.
Sales of the brand Adidas jumped by 12% to 4.77 billion euros, Reebok – decreased by 3%, to 387 million euros.
The company's profitability increased by 2.2%, to 52.3%, due to sales growth in key markets for the concern.
In Russia and the CIS, the sales volume of the German manufacturer amounted to 177 million euros, decreasing in annual terms by 2%, according to the company's report. At the same time, without taking into account currency fluctuations, the indicator increased by 14%.
Gross profit of Adidas in Russia and the CIS in the second quarter amounted to 119 million euros, decreasing by 1% compared to the indicator for the previous quarter.In the same period last year, operating profit increased by 8% to 49 million euros.The marginality of the group's business in Russia and the CIS for the reporting period decreased by 0.7 percentage points compared to the indicator for the first quarter.; up to 67.1%.
The direction of "Russia and the CIS" has become the most profitable market of the group: in Western Europe, the indicator for the quarter was 48.3%, in North America 40.8%, and in the Asia-Pacific regionnbsp;– 57.5%, in Latin America – 43.9%, in emerging markets – 50.1%.
