WGSN and Coloro announced the main colors of the autumn-winter 24/25 season

WGSN, a global authority on consumer trends and design trends, and Coloro, a global authority on the future of color, have announced colors that will be relevant by 2025.

As consumers continue to struggle with ongoing economic, political and environmental crises, a sense of insecurity about the future will remain the dominant force. The factors that will influence consumers in 2025 are well-being, creativity, the environment and technology.

Key colors for the autumn-winter 24/25 season: intense rust, midnight plum, aged gray, cold matcha and apricot paint.

Claire Smith, color strategist at WGSN, said: "Our key colors for the fall-winter 24/25 season reflect the need for stability, escape from reality and recovery. As consumers remain sensitive and cautious about the future, it is necessary that colors do more, and we see that shades that offer stability and confidence come to the fore. Colors associated with nature and well-being remain key, these restorative shades bring a sense of calm and tranquility to the season. Finally, a sense of escapism manifests itself in the return of colors that can easily transform between the physical and digital spheres.

Color of 2024: Apricot Crush — 02465-27 (apricot crush)

WGSN first predicted that Apricot Crush would be the key color of the fall-winter 23/24 season, which corresponds to the emphasis on a balanced lifestyle that nourishes the body and mind. Moving it to the color of 2024 means the importance of orange as a universal off-season shade.

This balanced bright tone is an activating vitamin tone that embodies a full range of approaches to health and well-being. Combining the natural benefits of apricots and oranges, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it also draws from the beauty that can be found in nature. In times of such uncertainty, Apricot Crush continues to confirm its importance by acting as a color full of hope and positivity.

Intense Rust - 015-33-25 (intense rust)

Saturated rust returns to the autumn/winter 24/25 palette as a key color. A warm and rich shade of Intense Rust is an off-season brown that evokes a sense of stability. Balancing luxury with a raw earthy hue, this color resembles an earth filled with warmth and a calm texture. This is inspired by the fact that consumers increasingly value sustainability rather than novelty, resale culture and products with long-term appeal. This color conveys authenticity, calm luxury and contributes to the return of classic design.

Midnight Plum - 151-22-09 (midnight plum)

Midnight Plum is a rich dark purple associated with the themes of space exploration and the metaverse. NASA's James Webb Telescope images have opened up the possibility of unraveling the mysteries of the origin of the universe, allowing the colors in space to capture our imagination. The shade is dark, close to black, this color celebrates darkness, combining with a sense of mystery, as well as with gothic and underground moods. This is consistent with the growing desire of consumers for escapism.

Sustained Grey - 035-73-04 (aged grey)

The aged gray color confirms the continued importance of choosing neutral and more stable colors, which mark the possibility of recycling and the desire for "enough". Representing practicality and reliability, this color is fundamental and down-to-earth with a utilitarian touch. He talks about promoting balance and deceleration as a timeless shade with off-season and long-term appeal.

Cool Matcha - 055-85-20 (cold match)

Cool Matcha— tinted pastel with soothing effect. Combining nature and technology, he emphasizes the importance of developing natural bio- and plant materials, dyes, pigments and energy sources. As consumers continue to face feelings of anxiety and stress, we turn to color to help calm the mind and give a sense of rest and reflection. Cool Matcha is a quiet, soothing pale color with therapeutic properties, which is an ideal combination of plant-green and attentive pastel.

Coloro guarantees that these shades:

  • will retain their appeal for several seasons in 2024–2025;
  • can work in perfect harmony and complement each other.
