The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, met with the participants of the NHP Expedition. Design students from Italy mastered the traditional technique of production of folk art crafts under the guidance of leading Russian masters and presented sketches of NHP products to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

The first participants of the "NHP Expedition" included students of the Italian fashion school Polimoda (Florence) and the HSE School of Design (Moscow). They visited JSC "Gzhel Porcelain Factory", Orders «Badge of Honor» JSC "Khokhloma Painting», LLC «Torzhok Goldways», LLC «Factory of Orenburg down shawls», JSC «Imperial Porcelain factory». The result of the project will be a joint collection of interior items and clothing, created taking into account the experience gained and inspired by the history and culture of Russia. The collection will be presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

Comments Paola Laudisa, a student of Polimoda: "At the Polimoda Institute, we were told about the proposal, and we met this idea with delight. Naturally, we did not know what to expect from the cooperation of the two countries, and it was difficult to imagine that it would be possible to build ties in the fashion industry, which is so rapidly changing and relatively independent. We didn't know what the process of learning traditional techniques would be like.We never expected that the interaction of these two worlds could be so fruitful. After visiting the Gzhel Porcelain Factory, we learned how to create a more material and original design. This place has an amazing atmosphere: everyone is friendly, ready to help each other, there is a sense of celebration here. The National Chamber of Fashion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Polimoda helped us to take a fresh look at the fashion world, to reconsider our approach to work. It is important not only to preserve traditions and cultural identity, it is also important to tell the whole world about them, in particular to the new generation of designers.

According to the audience, the works presented by Russian and Italian design students are worthy of inclusion in the production of folk art factories and will receive appropriate recommendations.

Taking into account the fact that Italy also has national approaches to design, we are very glad that our folk crafts may be of interest to you. "NHP Expedition" This is a project of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the National Chamber of Fashion, the Foundation for the Promotion of Folk Arts and Crafts, Rustrends, aimed at supporting and developing folk arts and crafts. Familiarity with traditional Russian NCP techniques, immersion in the history and culture of Russia for design students should become one of the sources of inspiration.
