The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia together withRoskachestvopresented the results of a study of the quality of men's suits. In the course of the study, problems were identified with the raw materials entering the production, but the high quality of tailoring and processing of the material was confirmed.

26 men's two-piece suits purchased in the price range from 5310 rubles to 40548 rubles were sent to the best laboratories of the country. All products were purchased in Russian stores. The costumes of such brands as "Monsieur", Henderson, Hugo Boss, Massimo Dutti, Zara, etc. were studied. Jackets and trousers of fourteen brands are made in Russia, the rest are made abroad. Two brands have suits made in Turkey, one each in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Germany, Egypt, Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Romania and Croatia. On one suit, the country of manufacture was not indicated.

The suits were tested on 85 indicators, among which the most important are the quality of the material, compliance with the declared composition, strength, as well as color stability.

Experts have established for applicants for the Quality Mark increased requirements for the quality of the tailoring of the product and the materials from which they are made. In particular, for high-quality suits, the lining of a jacket and trousers should absorb and retain moisture well, the upper material should be durable, resistant to abrasion and the formation of pellets (i.e. pellets), have low crease and breathe. Also, the product should not change its size after dry cleaning.

The suits of two brands – Clubber and MANGO were recognized as goods that met such advanced requirements.  The goods of the brands «Sir», «Frant », Bruno Banani, CACHAREL, DIGEL, Henderson, M&S were recognized as high-quality and safe, Magestic Legate, Massimo Dutti, Slava Zaitsev and ZARA. Products of 13 brands have violations of varying severity.
