The Russian Federation remains the leader in the production of synthetic fabrics among the CIS countries
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia took part in the events of the III International Forum "Commonwealth of Fashion", which takes place in the Tauride Palace of St. Petersburg. On November 19, 2024, a round table was held on the topic "Economics and investments. The role of government and investment support programs, as well as marketing strategies in the development of light industry in the CIS area", where a presentation was made Faith Khmyrova, Director of the Department of Light Industry and Forestry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
In her speech, she noted the growth in the production of light industry goods in Russia. Over the past year, the increase was almost 25%, with the largest increase in clothing production – 30%.
"Thanks to comprehensive support measures and the focus of the Government of the Russian Federation on the development of the industry , we are seeing growth. But, nevertheless, we need to sew more and better, offering consumers more high-quality and interesting clothes, and with the national, cultural traditions of a particular country", – commented Vera Khmyrova.
The interest of young people in the industry was also noted. The choice of a specialty is influenced by many factors: salaries, creative approaches, the image of the profession, etc.
"Light industry is not only a seamstress, it is an engineer, designer, technologist, textile worker, shoe maker, designer and other professions that unite the industry. We try to talk about personnel as much as possible and more often, shifting the stereotypes that have developed recently in the industry," she saidVera Khmyrova.
In addition, Faith Gennadievna stated that Russian brands need to be flexible and adapt their products to rapidly changing trends in a timely manner. At the same time, take into account the taste preferences of the consumer, popularize the national cultural code, create collaborations with both large manufacturers and other market players, including international projects, in particular work with representatives of the CIS countries. The successful experience of cooperation is demonstrated by joint solutions and projects with the Republics of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.
«This form of partnership allows not only to produce a creative product, but also to attract a new audience, because these are potential consumers. We see such interesting collaborations, for example, Anika Kerimova and Vologda Textile, Victoria Andreyanova and Shuisky Chintzes. As for international cooperation , this will allow us to create collections reflecting the friendship of peoples and the peculiarities of cultures that will be in demand among consumers of both countries," she notedVera Khmyrova.
According to Faith Gennadievna The Russian Federation remains the leader in the production of synthetic fabrics among the CIS countries. Production growth over the past year amounted to 14%. Fabrics are exported to Belarus and Kazakhstan.
" Effective cooperation with the Republic has been built with regard to synthetic yarns Belarus, which, since 2018, has been the leader in the supply of this nomenclature to the Russian Federation. The capacity of the Russian market makes it a target for the sale of light industry products for many countries. Competition in this market is certainly very high and flexible," noted Vera Khmyrova.
At the end of her speech, she stated that for the effective and visual development of the consumer market of civilian products, it is necessary to build cooperative chains for each redistribution with partner countries.
