The ban on the export of leather raw materials has been extended
The Russian government has decided to extend the ban on the export of semi-finished leather products from the country until December 10.
The adopted Resolution states: "To establish from June 10 to December 10, 2018 a temporary ban on the export from the Russian Federation of goods that are essential for the domestic market of the Russian Federation, in respect of which, in exceptional cases, temporary restrictions or export bans may be established, and provided for by codes 4104 11 and 4104 19 of the unified commodity nomenclature Foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union".
For the first time, the ban on the export of these goods was introduced in 2014, since then it has been extended several times.
"Government Decree No. 791 of August 11, 2014 established a ban on the use of any materials and semi-finished products other than Russian ones in the manufacture of light industry goods supplied for federal needs. Therefore, in order to guarantee the satisfaction of the state needs of the main consumers of leather products, it was necessary to introduce temporary restrictions on the export of semi-finished leather products, as indicated on the Government's website.
