Russian Post erases borders

Within the framework of the 32nd International Exhibition CPM –Collection Premiere Moscow «The Russian Post" held a master class "Erasing borders: new import and export opportunities for fashion business", during which the company's representatives told Russian and foreign fashion retailers about logistics solutions in the e-commerce segment, which the company provides inside and outside the country.

 

An important step in the development of new opportunities was the opening of the branch of the "Russian Post" in Berlin in May 2018. Managing Director of the branch Oleg Ospishchev spoke about the activities of the European branch Russian Post». He noted that the presence of a subsidiary in Germany gives European online retailers the possibility of direct entry for b2c shipments to the Russian Federation with a choice of options at the last mile. «The Russian Post is the largest logistics operator with 43,000 branches throughout the country, which gives a natural advantage over all other companies, especially in the regions. We are certainly interested in the fashion market, these are our customers, and we need to engage in this direction not only in Russia, but also abroad.

 

Modernization processes taking place in the last 5–6 years on «The Russian Post", radically changed its position and gave it the opportunity to engage in commercial activities at the highest global level. To date, through «Russian Post" passes approximately 1 millionsmall parcels from China, and thanks to a modern processing center in the capital Vnukovo, which is not inferior in terms of technical equipment to many European logistics centers, the capacity can be increased to 1.5 million postal items per day.

The process of delivering goods through the Berlin branch «Russian Post»  is carried out in terms of 7 to 14 days, depending on many factors, including where in the country the delivery is going. In the near future, these deadlines will be shortened, as most processes are automated and move to "digit".

 

The main delivery regions are Moscow and St. Petersburg, their share is approximately 70%. And here we compete with courier services. But the regions these companies «are not able to hoe » and often hand over orders to us.
