The main question for leather shoes is whether they are really made of genuine leather, or are we, unsuspectingly, paying for various substitutes? To get an answer, Roskachestvo sent classic men's shoes of popular brands in Russia for examination. The samples were examined according to a variety of parameters, including strength, safety and, of course, naturalness. Research has shown which manufacturer can be trusted.

As part of a fan study of Roskachestvo, men's shoes of 30 of the most popular brands on the Russian market were examined. Shoes and half-boots are tested on 40 indicators of quality and safety. Five samples are of Russian production, the rest are imported. Among the shoes made abroad, 11 pairs are made in China, 4 in Italy, 3 in Germany, 2 in India, 2 in Portugal and one each in Cambodia, Romania and Turkey. According to the results of laboratory tests, shoe samples of four brands were recognized as high-quality goods. Unfortunately, the study does not say whether the shoes were checked for the authenticity of the trademark.

The standard of the Russian quality system

The standard of Luxury for men's shoes with uppers made of leather in its main parameters is identical to the current GOST and has stricter requirements for tailoring and toxicity. The required level of localization of production is 56%.

The leaders were men's shoes brands «Paris commune» (Russia), Zenden (China), Hugo Boss (Germany), Clarks Tilden Plain (India). They meet the requirements of the current standards for quality and safety, as well as the requirements of the advanced standard of Roskachestvo. Of all the high-quality samples, only the goods of domestic production can qualify for the assignment of the Russian Quality Mark.
