Regional fashion designers at the Light Industry Week
On March 21, business events held within the framework of the Russian Textile and Light Industry Week 2019 and aimed at developing the fashion industry in the regions of Russia ended with the show of collections of 12 designers of clothing from the regions. The event was organized by the Fashion Week Association with the support of Soyuzlegprom.
Before the show, a round table was held "Prospects for the development of fashion design in the regions of the Russian Federation", moderated by the President of the Association "Fashion Week"Roman Efremov. The event was attended by: Andrey Razbrodin, President of Soyuzlegprom; Igor Gulyaev, designer; Anna Lebsak-Kleimans, Head of Fashion Consulting Group; Valery Belgorodsky, Rector of Kosygin Russian State University; Evgeny Rumyantsev, Rector of Ivanovo Polytechnic University; Andrey Safinin, Director of the Institute of Design and Advertising of the International Academy of Business and Management; Evgeny Yaschuk, Senior Vice President of the Association of Haute Couture and pret-a-port; Alice Tolkacheva, designer, founder of the brand ALISA TOLKACHEVA; Olga Grinyuk, designer, founder of the OLGA GRINYUK brand; Daria Detkina, shoe designer, founder of the IDDI brand (Innovation Daria Detkina Ideas); Igor York, designer, founder of the IGOR YORK brand; designers from the regions.
Within the framework of the round table, at which industry professionals discussed the state of fashion retail in the regions, explored the marketing opportunities of regional designers. In particular, online buying was put on the agenda as a new opportunity for export and issues of promoting Russian designers abroad. From the speech of the president of the Union of Russian Buyers Elena Bugranova, it followed that buyers are waiting for offers from Russian designers and are ready, provided they meet professional requirements, to replace imported brands with Russian offers.
Andrey Razbrodin told about the problems facing the Russian light industry, about the development and implementation of measures to support the industry. According to him, a real chance for Russian manufacturers to compete with well-known brands is given by the state's import substitution policy and a reduction in imports of light industry products. "We are convinced that state support for regional fashion designers is very important, and certain measures should be taken, including at the legislative level," Mr. Razbrodin emphasized.
CEO of Fashion Consulting Group Anna Lebsak-Kleimans presented a report on the advantages that niche regional clothing brands can derive from the financial and economic crisis and market glut. In her opinion, both online and offline discounters, as well as international vertical retail brands offering products of the low price segment, have high chances to rise on the crisis phenomena. "Good opportunities are opening up for Russian brands of vertical retail focused on minimum prices, as well as domestic retailers who have their own brands in the middle and lower segments," the expert believes.
The final chord of the participation of regional fashion designers in business events "Russian Textile and Light Industry Week-2019"was the show of collections, as well as a fashion show at the Soho club.Rooms, where, together with Natalia Sharonova's production center, the designers once again demonstrated their work. In addition, everyone could attend screenings every dayMoscow Fashion Week.
According to Roman Efremov, the effectiveness of the events held at the Expocenter with the participation of famous and novice designers once again confirms that the site of the Russian Light Industry Week together with the Fashion Week in Moscow and the communication projects of the Association of the Week fashion is becoming a platform for uniting the fashion industry in the regions of the country and has prospects to have a positive impact on the development of the industry.
