Inditex sales increased by 10.2% in six months
Inditex is a Spanish company, owner of large store chains (Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Oysho, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Uterqüe). Over the past six months, Inditex sales have grown by 10.2% to 18.1 billion euros, significantly exceeding analysts' forecasts, which expected an increase of 7%.
The company's profit increased by 10% and amounted to 2.8 billion rubles. The gross profit for the first half of 2024 amounted to 58.3%, which is 19 percentage points higher than in the same period last year.
The general director of the company, Oscar Garcia Maceiras, paid special attention to the fact that sales increased not by raising prices for items, but by increasing the assortment. Surprisingly, even despite the closure of stores in various countries, including 47 Zara boutiques and 33 Oysho stores, Inditex continues to increase its revenue. 16 Zara Home stores and others were also closed.
Sales growth of 10.2% indicates the successful adaptation of Inditex to current market conditions and changing consumer preferences.
The key factor contributing to this growth was the increase in the product range, which indicates the company's deep understanding of the needs of its customers. This strategy allowed Inditex to offset the negative effects of store closures by maintaining a high level of consumer loyalty and even attracting a new audience. It is important to note that the company was able to achieve such results without raising prices, which highlights its competitive advantages and ability to effectively manage operations in conditions of economic uncertainty.
The company's representatives also noted that, in addition to trying to keep prices for everyday goods low, Inditex is actively investing in logistics and other fast delivery technologies. These investments are designed to stay ahead of major competitors such as H&M Group and Shein.
This success also demonstrates Inditex's ability to respond quickly to changes in the global retail environment by innovating and optimizing commercial activities.
