Peuterey Launches Icon Project
Peuterey presents a collection of pairs and trench coats Icon Project, inspired by the flights of the first airships.
The airship «Zeppelin» made its first flight over the waters of Lake Constance on July 2, 1900, thereby starting a story that led to intercontinental passenger flights in less than 30 years.
More than 100 years later, Peuterey launches the Icon Project, inspired by these futuristic machines, light, but at the same time technological. The same characteristics are given to the Peuterey collection, which includes warm seamless and ultra-light models made of organic cotton, as well as from the Thindown material.
Thindownis an innovative material consisting of goose down and feather (90/10), statically melted into fleece. This creates a thin, durable layer and eliminates the need for a functional stitch, which has traditionally been used to support the filler. The seams are sealed with a plastic thermal tape under high pressure, which prevents the penetration of moisture into the jacket.
Light parkas and trench coats from the winter collection are named after airships. Zeppelin – the very first, Snowbird – record holder for the speed of flights across the Atlantic, Graf – made a circular flight through South and North America, and Norge – through the North Pole.
