R&D – first-hand information

Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and The Israel Innovation Agency selects Russian-Israeli projects in the field of industrial research and development. Applications are accepted until March 1, 2018.

On January 30, 2018 The Foundation for Infrastructure and Educational Programs held an event at which the criteria for project selection, application evaluation parameters, key points and subtleties when filling out and submitting applications were considered in detail. Everyone was given the opportunity to ask their questions about the key sectors of the selection process, cooperation with Israeli teams and the division of rights to the results obtained within the framework of the project.

The selection is carried out within the framework of the agreement concluded in March 2010 between the governments of Russia and Israel on cooperation in the field of industrial R&D. Joint applications of partner companies from Russia and Israel are accepted to participate in the selection.

The following requirements apply to projects:

  • projects carrying out industrial R&D in the nanotechnology and related high-tech sectors can participate in the selection in order to develop new industries, mechanisms and tools for realizing the potential of the nanoindustry;
  • the product, process or service being developed within the framework of the project should be innovative and based on new technologies;
  • the expected period of commercialization of the technology is 3–5 years;
  • the project should have significant volumes of potential markets in the territories of Russia, Israel and in the whole world.

Russian project participants must conduct production activities, or be a research institution (university, research institute, etc.), or have a team capable of implementing a research program for the project. Israeli participants must also conduct production activities and be ready to accept technological and scientific assistance from a production or research institution.

The Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs will finance projects in the form of grants in an amount not exceeding 50% of the budget of the Russian part of the projects. The Israel Innovation Agency provides financing for the Israeli part of the project, implemented by an Israeli partner company in accordance with established procedures and rules.
