New Dior cruise collection – Scottish motifs in the spirit of French fashion

The long-awaited show of the new Dior cruise collection took place tonight. The location for the show was the Scottish Drummond Castle. The choice of location was determined by the theme of the line itself. For inspiration, the current creative director of the French fashion house, Maria Grazia Chiuri, turned to the history of Scotland, namely the reign of Queen Mary.

The magnificent romantic collection with Gothic quotes and elements of the national Scottish costume exceeded all expectations. Maria Grazia Chiuri has more than managed to capture the spirit of Scotland while remaining true to the DNA of Dior. So, the show was opened by a performer of national Scottish music. Playing an instrument, the girl showed off a red dress with a full skirt and set the atmosphere for the whole show.

In the new cruise collection, the classic Scottish cage is harmoniously combined with the iconic Dior leather trim. Mesh dresses made under chain mail look incredibly elegant and feminine on models. Maria's admiration for Scottish aesthetics culminated in the final image, consisting of a cape dress with a map of Scotland in the center and the flag of her people on the edges.

I would especially like to note how the designer interpreted the now popular trend for transparency. The lace products presented in the collection do not look pretentious and provocative. Due to the high collars, accent shoulders and ruffles on the cuffs, even the most daring products look restrained and innocent.
