Lamoda automates the process of detecting marriage with the help of artificial intelligence

The other day, the Lamoda marketplace team announced the launch of a machine learning model, the purpose of which will be to check goods to identify defects. According to the company, the technology will help increase the processing speed of goods returned after fitting by customers.

Now all products in stock Lamoda are checked through a special ML model. During the screening process, the returned product is assigned one of four statuses;

  • If everything is in order with the item, it is sent for storage, gets on display and is sold on.
  • If there are possible problems, then things need a quick check by a warehouse specialist.
  • If there are definitely problems with the item, it is sent to the quality service for a thorough check by a specialist.
  • If the condition of the product does not allow it to be sold anymore, then it will be sent to charity.

The new technology is an in-house development of the company Lamoda. For its implementation and integration, 20 million lines of historical data were taken, and more than 60 signs about the product and order were taken into account. Prior to the introduction of the ML model, defects in clothing and shoes were detected manually by employees.
