Edi Slimane to head Céline
British designer Edi Slimane, who previously headed Dior Homme and Saint Laurent, was appointed to the positions of Creative Director, Art Director and Director of brand image Céline. On this post Edi Slimane replaced Phoebe Philo.
The French House Céline was created in 1945 and belongs to the concern LVMH. Under the leadership of the new director, the brand plans to launch men's, couture and perfume lines.
The news of the new appointment was received by the public with great interest and even surprise. Edi Slimane is known for the rocker aesthetic characteristic of California, while the House Céline has been following the path of minimalism in recent years. That is why the result of their cooperation remains an exciting moment for many. The first collection of Céline under Slimane will be seen by the public this September at Paris Fashion Week.
