Chanel Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2024/2025

On June 25, the new couture collection of the French fashion house Chanel was shown. Contrary to tradition, the Granier Palace was chosen as the venue for the show, not the Grand Palace. French director Christophe Honore was hired to rethink the space of the opera, according to his idea it was necessary to move the red velvet boxes of the gilded theater into its corridors.

This show was very significant for the brand, as it showed the first collection after the departure of the creative director of the brand, Virginia Viard. According to these brands, the couture line was the work of a fashion creation studio, but Virginia's handwriting is felt in every outfit.

Speaking about the collection itself, it is worth noting the traditional abundance of tweeds, sequins, bows for Chanel, which became for many a reason to assume that Jean Paul Gaultier could become the successor of Viard. The color palette was very diverse: classic gray, black and white colors were harmoniously replaced by rich purple, pale pink and bright gold.

The show was completed with an ivory wedding dress with airy sleeves and silk taffeta. The main reference for the fashion house team was obviously Princess Diana's wedding dress.
