Automated budgeting for BNS Group
KORUS Consulting Group has completed a project to create an automated budgeting system on the Anaplan cloud platform in BNS Group, one of the leaders of retail in the fashion industry.
BNS Group is one of the largest Russian fashion distributors, representing more than a dozen world-famous brands of clothing and accessories on the markets in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The company has been successfully developing about 100 of its own retail stores for over 20 years. The portfolio of BNS Group includes such well-known brands as Calvin Klein, MEXX, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, Karl Lagerfeld, etc., which helped the company to gain a reputation as a progressive player in the domestic fashion retail market.
Previously, the financial service of BNS Group used MS Excel and Prophix software for budgeting, the speed of which did not meet the requirements of a rapidly developing company and imposed serious restrictions on the work of the financial service. The employees of BNS Group did not have the opportunity to carry out complex calculations online, simulate situations and make changes to the current system.
To simplify the budgeting process and increase the level of planning detail due to the rapid processing of large amounts of data, the company's management conducted a thorough research of the solutions market. As a result, the Anaplan platform was chosen, which perfectly meets the high requirements of BNS Group and has established itself as a leader in the class of cloud solutions for financial planning and analysis. The team of «KORUS Consulting» was chosen as the implementation partner, which is associated with BNS Group successful partnerships and which has deep expertise in automating business processes using innovative solutions in retail chains. The customer created the competence center Anaplan in the state, which allowed the company to partially complete the project on its own, attracting integrator experts to train business users and solve the most complex tasks.
Comments Ruslan Shvedkov, CFO of BNS Group:Retail is one of the most high-tech areas of business, and we are one of the leaders of retail in the fashion industrywe strive to use and develop effective and reliable solutions. In addition to the main tasks of budgeting, we use the system as a tool for calculating purchases, which is an important aspect of successful work in the industry. We are grateful to the KORUS Consulting team for their high involvement in solving complex technical issues of the project. We plan to further expand the use of Anaplan, using the platform in more business processes.
The introduction of the platform allowed BNS Group to completely abandon the MS Excel models that were used to accelerate budgeting processes. This helped not only to reduce the number of errors in calculating the increasing amount of data, but also to simplify the budgeting process as a whole. Additionally, the company has introduced new report forms that were not used in the previous system due to the complexity of programming. Additionally, BNS Group was able to simulate various scenarios with a high degree of detail and view the results of calculations in real time, which is useful and convenient when protecting the annual budget.
The flexibility of the system and knowledge of its own business processes allowed BNS Group to complete the implementation without writing voluminous and outdated technical and methodological documentation. Moreover, the competence of the retailer's specialists allows, without the help of external consultants, to make changes to the company's business model and perform calculations according to the new model.
Comments Vsevolod Teplyakov, Head of Business Planning Department of CPM GC «KORUS Consulting»: «The desire of BNS Group to independently develop the system allowed to complete the implementation in record time and – which is very important – showed high satisfaction the choice of the client's platform and the compliance of its capabilities with the needs of the business. Using the best practices and technologies will help the retailer to meet new challenges and successfully develop together with the Russian retail market.
