Unicel's video message to the President

There are a lot of urgent issues that worry workers in the Russian light industry and it does not get easier from year to year. The employees of "Unichel" admit that for several years in a row they tried to "break through" to the direct line to the President, but in vain, so this year they decided to prepare more thoroughly and recorded a video!

"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich! We, the workers of the Chelyabinsk shoe factory, can be left without a job! We produce very high-quality shoes made of genuine leather. We comply with all GOST standards, pass all necessary examinations. We received a Russian Quality Mark for children's shoes. But we see that shopping malls are opening everywhere in our city and other cities of the country, where very low-quality Chinese-made shoes are sold. The smell in these stores is suffocating. We are manufacturers ourselves and we understand that these shoes are made of toxic materials with the use of harmful chemicals and formaldehydes. But a lot of children's shoes are sold there. It is obvious to everyone that this is a counterfeit! But because of the low price, people buy this poison. If it goes on like this, our shoes, made honestly, in compliance with all norms and rules, will not be needed by anyone. Vladimir Vladimirovich, why are there so many contraband in stores in our country? We are 100% confident in our products, but it is impossible to compete with those who work dishonestly!»

Chelyabinsk shoemakers have been sounding the alarm for several years about the dominance of counterfeit goods in the shoe market, which enters the region across the border with Kazakhstan. Being in the Single Customs Union, the Russian customs has no right to stop and inspect the goods coming to us. Checks are made only selectively, and the contraband found is issued as a product with incorrectly filled out documents. In such cases, the trucks are simply sent back, where the goods are safely reloaded into other cars. The Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers estimated that 200 million pairs of illegal shoes are imported into Russia annually, and this is twice the legal domestic production (100 million pairs) and 25% legal import (150 million pairs).
