The Russian Textile and Light Industry Week 2018 has started at the Expocentre Fairgrounds on March 20.This large-scale industry event has been held for the third year by the Expocenter together with the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs (Soyuzlegprom) with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, The Public Chamber, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, in partnership with the German company Messe Frankfurt.

The week brought together several leading international light industry screenings taking place in Russia, as well as the central industry event "strong"V International Light Industry Forum "Legpromforum-2018".

The international exhibition "Equipment for the production and processing of Textiles"– «Inlegmash-2018», the international exhibition of fiber-based materials » are simultaneously held on a single site«Expocenter».Techtextil Russia 2018, international exhibition of fabrics and textile materials  «Intertkan-2018. Spring», international exhibition of textiles for home and interior –  «Intertex». All these exhibitions, as Mikhail Tolkachev, Deputy General Director of the Expocentre, noted at the opening ceremony, represent related areas and are united by a single business program.Such an organic symbiosis of industry reviews allows specialists to get acquainted with the achievements of all areas of the textile and light industry, which are demonstrated by the largest Russian and foreign companies.

The best solutions necessary for the technical re-equipment and modernization of Russian light industry enterprises are presented at the exhibition Inlegmash-2018. Traditionally, it has become a meeting place for leading industry professionals, manufacturers and consumers of textile machinery from around the world. This year, 150 companies from 20 countries are participating in it. India and the Republic of Korea have organized national expositions. Compared to last year, the number of participants in the exhibition Inlegmash has increased by almost 20%, and the exhibition area has increased by 30%.

The President of Soyuzlegprom Andrey Razbrodin, in turn, also noted with satisfaction the doubling of the exhibition "Intertank".

Speaking at the opening of the Week, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov stressed that the growth rates in the Russian light industry today are among the highest among all manufacturing industries overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In 2017, the domestic light industry showed growth in all areas compared to the previous year. The growth in the production of textiles exceeded 7%, the production of clothing increased by almost 4%, and leather goods by 4.5%. The production of synthetic fabrics has increased the most by almost 25%. The process of import substitution is actively underway. Exports of the industry's products increased by 17%. Its volume amounted to $ 1.4 billion, the deputy minister said.    

Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Elena Dybova, for her part, expressed confidence that the high professionalism of the team of "Expocenter", which organized the exhibitions, as well as the organizers of the business program it will allow participants and visitors to get all the necessary information about the industry, exchange experience, find new working contacts and guidelines for business development in the near future.

The Executive Vice President of the RSPP also congratulated the participants and guests on the opening of the "Light Industry Week-2018".Viktor Skerepov, General Director of the Association of Haute Couture and pret-a-port Evgeny Yaschuk, Director of the brand Techtextil and Texprocess, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Michael Eneke.

Immediately after the official opening of the Week, an award ceremony was held for the winners of Russia's first professional textile competition Textile Design Talents, organized on the initiative of Solstudio Textile Design and Soyuzlegprom with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 300 talented designers from 30 cities and 9 countries took part in the competition, presenting 200 works in the field of textile design. 20 finalists were selected from them, who received memorable gifts and the opportunity to cooperate with the design bureau Solstudio Textile Design.

Three prizes were taken: 3rd place – Darina Biryulina; 2nd place – Vasilina Tolmacheva; 1st place Sofia Eliseeva, who as the winner of the competition was awarded the main prize of a fully paid internship at the largest textile factory in Europe Ratti S.p.A. – Marzotto Group (Italy).
