The third "Russian Seasons" will be held in TSUM
On May 30, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov will open the festival "Russian Seasons".
The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and is dedicated to Russian folk arts and crafts and understanding of the Russian cultural code in modern design and fashion.
A joint collection of the famous Russian couturier will be presented at the festival for the first time in Russia Valentina Yudashkina and Factories of Orenburg down shawls. It is not the first time that Valentin Yudashkin uses the Orenburg shawl in his work. The first silk coat covered with cobwebs was presented by him as a gift to the city of Orenburg after the shows in Paris in 1996.
Also at the exhibition, young designers and factories of Russian folk art crafts will demonstrate their joint works. The history of the capsule "Russian Seasons" began in February of this year, when the organizing committee of the festival announced a competition among talented students and young designers of Russia. Within three months, 10 young Russian designers (Daria Babayeva, Lidia Smirnova, Grigory Korobeynikov, Dmitry Diyarov and others) under the curatorship of Natalia Turovnikova, together with the artists of the factories "Krestetskaya Stitch", "Snowflake" (Vologda lace), "Khokhloma painting", Zhostovskaya decorative painting factory, Pavloposadsky handkerchief manufactory and Gzhel Porcelain Factory worked on the capsule. According to the terms of the competition, the works should be based on the traditions of crafts and at the same time have a new reading.
Folk art crafts are a part of our culture, without which it is impossible to imagine the spiritual development of society. Now the task is to develop the industry and bring it to new modern positions. To this end, the strategy for the development of folk arts and crafts is being updated, a roadmap is being developed to create conditions for providing industry organizations with orders," said Dmitry Kolobov, Director of the Department for the Development of Socially Significant Goods of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia .
