The choice is natural!
Russian residents, choosing winter shoes, prefer models made of natural materials. These are the results of a study by the company «Unichel» of the demand for shoes in 55 regions of the country where the brand is represented.
If we divide the picture by consumer segments, then most of the leather products with fur lining are purchased by representatives of the strong half of humanity. Of the 133,317 men's winter boots and boots sold in 2017, 80% pairs are made of genuine leather, and in 72% natural fur was used as the lining.
Russian women are also on the side of natural materials. Of the 167,639 pairs of women's winter shoes sold in 2017, 52% are made of genuine leather. But Russians are more loyal to the lining material: of the winter models sold, no more than 26% pairs with a natural fur lining.
Our fellow citizens also prefer shoes made of natural materials for their children. 78% of the pairs of shoes sold for boys were made of genuine leather – 8 times more than the number of pairs sold made of combined material. The situation is similar with linings: 71% of sold pairs are with natural fur. The share of genuine leather shoes sold for girls is 30% from 136,711 of all pairs sold. In 32% of the pairs sold, natural fur was used as a lining. For preschoolers, the leading positions are occupied by shoes made of genuine leather (31%) and felt (43%). On natural fur – 61% of school shoes sold. In children's shoes, valenki (felt) remain out of competition – 52% of pairs sold, shoes made of genuine leather – 26%.
In 2017 in Russia, according to The Union of Tanners and Shoemakers of the Russian Federation , out of the total number of shoes produced in the country, 100 million pairs of shoes are only 23 million pairs of leather shoes, that is, only every 5th pair. Thus, only one out of five Russians wears leather shoes, which, according to experts "Unichel", is extremely dangerous for the health of the nation.
