LOEWE corset creation technology for Met Gala 2024
On the red carpet of the Met Gala 2024, actress Taylor Russell demonstrated an ode to botanical luxury, embodying the theme of "The Garden of Time" in a charming way.
Dressed in an amazing Loewe creation, Russell stepped onto the red carpet as if she had stepped off the canvas of a botanical illustration. The bodice of the dress, painted in a deep shade of wood, seemed to echo the trunk of a mighty oak, and the full ivory skirt, falling to the hips, resembled the delicate petals of a flower. In time with the theme of "The Garden of Time", the actress complemented her image with an exquisite detail: branches gracefully spread along the neckline and waist of the dress, like graceful vines wrapping around the figure.
Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, demonstrated another miracle of biomimicry. The designer presented a corset created using 3D printing. This masterpiece perfectly repeated every curve of the body, like a second skin.
Anderson did not stop there and used the technique of hydrosublimation, already presented in the spring-summer collection last year. The result was a mesmerizing effect: Taylor's bronze skin tone merged with the corset, creating the illusion of a single whole.
The finishing touch of the image was the wooden flowers that decorated the model's hair. This botanical accent not only emphasized Russell's beauty, but also echoed the theme of the exhibition "Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion", sponsored by Loewe.
"Playing with feelings is central to the exhibition," Anderson said. "We do similar tricks with deception in Loewe collections, blurring the line between the real and the surreal, the natural and the unnatural."
