LVMH Award for Young Designers

On June 6, the LVMH Award ceremony was held for leading young fashion designers. The winner was recognized as Masayuki Ino (Doublet collection).

 

 

The jury of the Award included art directors of Fashion Houses of the LVMH group: J.V. Anderson(Loewe), Maria Grazia Chiuri (Dior), Nicolas Ghesquiere (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs, Claire Waite Keller (Givenchy), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Umberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo), and also Delphine Arnault (executive vice president of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Clavery (advisor to Bernard Arnault) and Sidney Toledano (Chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group).

 

 

Masayuki Ino will receive a grant of 300,000 euros. In addition, he will be able to take advantage of a one-year mentoring program provided by a special LVMH team.

 

The award was presented to the winner by the actress Emma Stone and artist Jaden Smith, famous fashion fans. The design of the prize statuette was designed by Jean-Michel Othoniel.

 

 

A special award, a grant of 150,000 euros and an annual LVMH mentoring program were awarded Roku Khwan for the Rokh collection.

 

 

In addition, the jury noted three graduates of fashion schools, each of whom will receive a grant of 10,000 euros and an annual internship in one of the three Houses of the LVMH group: Archie M. Allerd-Marinez (will join the Givenchy House), Maya Chantu (will join the The House of Céline) and Scilia Shevo (will join the House of Louis Vuitton).

Scylia Chevaux, a graduate of Accademia Costume & Modawho, joins the House of Louis Vuitton.

 

In total, more than 1,300 applications from designers from more than 90 countries of the world were submitted in the V season of the Award. The next Award ceremony will take place in 2019.
