On April 3, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia hosted an industry meeting chaired by Minister Denis Manturovon the current situation and prospects for the development of the Russian linen complex.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that currently there is a real opportunity to carry out a full cycle of growing and deep processing of flax. "To do this, it is necessary to maximally correlate the needs of light industry enterprises and the capabilities of agricultural producers in terms of the development of the raw material base. In addition, there is a shortage of flax in the world today, which Russia can successfully compensate for," he addressed the audience.

Representatives of took part in the discussionThe Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, regional authorities, leading industry enterprises and development institutions. The entrepreneurs expressed their interest and willingness to take part in the program for the development of the flax complex of Russia, stressing that they have the necessary competencies and technologies for this.

Following the meeting, it was decided to develop a Strategy for the development of the flax industry, taking into account the assessment of the prospects for the use of flax products in various sectors of the economy, such as medicine and pharmaceuticals, construction, biocomposites, light industry and others.
