"Cuckoo Tales" received the Grand Prix

The competition of young designers "Russian silhouette" has ended. On November 10 at the full Gostiny Dvor, young fashion designers from all over Russia and abroad showed their collections to the masters of the fashion industry.

The collections of the finalists, the models coming to the podium and the aspiring designers themselves seemed surprisingly fresh and bright. Famous fashion experts, journalists, the president of the foundation "Russian Silhouette" Tatiana Mikhalkova and our legendary couturiers Slava Zaitsev and Valentin Yudashkin applauded for their courage and talent.

The task of choosing the best of the best seemed unusually difficult this time - so many extraordinary and highly professional works were shown by young designers. Nevertheless, the leader was determined: an incredibly bright, fresh, witty, but at the same time with elements of Russian folklore collection "Cuckoo tales" – beautiful and harmonious work of a Petersburger Natalia Kukushkina. As a reward, the designer is waiting for two internships in the Fashion houses Etro and Laurel.

Comments Natalia Kukushkina, winner of the "Russian silhouette" contest: "This is my first victory of this kind. I was one hundred percent sure that I could not win this competition, I just like the process of communicating with designers, new people, learning something about my profession. If you don't have this attitude of kindness, positivity, some kind of happiness that you want to bring to the masses, then everything is meaningless. But dreams come true – and it's true, the fairy tale has come true!»

The competition "Russian silhouette" is also unusual in that, unlike its fellow one-dayers, it has been successfully existing and developing for many years.

It is important that young creators even from the very Russian hinterland manage to break through to the very heights with his help.

Finalists are traditionally waiting for internships with famous couturiers in the best fashion Houses. This year the internships were provided to the finalists: Fashion houses Laurel, Bosco Family, Claude Bonucci, Valentin Yudashkin, Igor Gulyaev, Victoria Andreyanova, Piquadro Group, Naba, Saga Furs, MD Makhmudov Djemal, ZASport, Solstudio textile design, Sergey Sysoev, Alina Assi, DM Tatiana Parfenova, Representative Office of the French Institute of Mod'Art International, Russian Ethnographic museum, company «Alexandria», Fashion Collection magazine.

The participants received a grant to study at the master's degree of the Kosygin Russian State University from the rector of the Institute Valery Belgorodsky, as well as at the Fashion Factory business school; corner in the MERLIS TG boutique "Fashion Season".

The guys will also have the opportunity to take part in the Russian Fashion Weeks in Moscow and St. Petersburg thanks to the initiative of the President of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs Andrey Razbrodin and Senior Vice President of the NGO "Association of High Fashion and Pret-a-port» Evgeny Yaschuk.

Finalists will be able to present their works at the international exhibition CPM and at the boutique R.E.D. The prize from the Union of Designers of Russia was presented by its President Vitaly Stavitsky, and from the International School KEUNE DESIGN – its head Natalia Antipova.

The collections in many ways even surpassed those designers who not so long ago worked out their shows at the October Fashion Weeks in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

It turned out that in the Russian regions and the near abroad there is an amazing landing of young and very talented designers.

The guys showed their knowledge not only in the history of costume, but also in the folklore art of various nationalities inhabiting our country.

Excellent handling of fabric and basic material - from working with felt, lace, weaving, knitting to embroidery and nanofelting, print and batik.

Hints of Russian propaganda posters of the 20s and 30s looked good and relevant, as well as almost cinematic elaboration of images and models in men's collections.

There were a lot of momentary things here, relevant for one season, but there were also things that with the words "Oh, how great it is!"every woman would wear it.

In general, we can say that a lot of work and support Tatiana Evgenievna Mikhalkova is bearing fruit, and a wonderful shift is growing in Russian fashion.
